Thankful tree

Thankful tree
Originally uploaded by Patty_kins
Well, I made this card for my Give Thanks/Thanksgiving swap. You may not be able to see the tiny words, but it said 'Thankful Hearts', which is why I have hearts all over.

I really like the white overlay w/ the darker shade technique. It kinda makes a shadow, although sometimes I'm thinking that my eyes aren't focusing. It's silly, I know, but you feel that way sometimes.

Anyway, this is for my swap group, and the one I received is with 3 little pilgrim chickies. Those are cute. I've been playing w/ monochrome lately, hopefully will have something decent to post soon!

Friends thru window

Friends thru window

You know, I was cleaning and found these window cards. Totally forgotten that I've got these. I had started making this card for the Splendid Olympics, but didn't have time to get it colored before submitting. Oh well, so here it is... couple weeks later. Finally posting this.

The other one, if you dig back, it has 3 bunnies on there. But, this time I did the girls instead. The more I look at the card, the more it reminds me of Brady Bunch; except not having a 3X3 grid. And that these are friends, not step-families. And definitely no Alice.

Anyway, I tried to give them some cool clothes, but it was late when I was coloring, these were as 'cool' as they were going to get. Hahaha...

Anyway, here's to another day!

Missing you

Missing you

Yes, I've been missing my Flickr due to my new laptop... yes, I got a new laptop. My old one worked fine but the the battery is 100% shot. So, yay for new laptop. The downside is that the little things I've had on my old one, totally forgot to add to the new one.

Anyway, I've got very little time to make cards. But I got some cool stamps from Splendid, and this is one of them that I've made.

I've seen several people doing the spotlight cards in blogosphere. So I've decided to do one too. When I was working on this, I was thinking, you know, I've done this before... total deja vu. I think I did in the 90s... I know that sounds like so far back ago, but it's only been a few years. But, as they say, what's old is new again.

Anyway, I spotlighted the little pup because he's my kind of puppy. Actually, I'm not much of a dog person, so I don't know the breed, but it reminds me of my friend, Gloria's beagle. Cute, cute, pootoote!

Well, I'm digging up stuff that I worked on previously for this Xmas season. I used the same stamp and did 2 different cards. These are so festive.... it's way too cool. It's quick and simple and yet people will be impressed... =D

Well, I'm heading out to Austin for a dance event. But definitely going to try to stop by a stamp store to get some goodies. ;)

Technical difficulties

Well, I was going to post yesterday, but I got bosses from two different depts visiting our office. So, I can't goof off, for fear that they walk up from behind me and see that I've been playing than working. Then, today I was going to post a card I made, but alas, I had technical difficulties... I'll try again tomorrow... Sorry!

Weather finally turned cold but to alot of northerners this is just a beautiful fall day. Which, don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, I take what I can get. But, just greatful it's no 90 degrees out.

So, if I were Martha Stewart, that's what I'd do to my house front. That way, people can see my nice trimmed trees and wreaths galore.

Speaking of, I'm hooked on this show hosted by Martha Stewart's daughter and her friend. They mock Martha's showed from years past. Some of them are just hilarious. You have to check them out. http://www.fineliving.com/fine/whatever_martha/

They poke fun, and actually try their hand at the projects... basically saying things you know we've all been saying... why would you do this, or who in their right mind would do that... that type of things. I'm hooked!

I'm keeping this short, because I am training someone. Same reason why I didn't blog, because I constantly have people at my desk.

Anyway, hope you have a good weekend!

I just think it's so cool that the flower I used in the background looks like it's giving the tree the highlight. As though, the star is shining so bright that it radiates... how neat is that?

So, that's my card for today, no frills scrap card!

After he played it a couple of times, he realized it's not his type of game and stopped playing it. Did I mention I went to 3 different stores to find this?

No, I'm not bitter.

On to the next subject:
Nami from DeNami Designs posted 30 tips for Stampers/Crafter. All of the tips are super helpful. Some of them I already employ, but some it's a great idea that I haven't thought about. So, hope you find them helpful too!

This is a card I made a while back when I was on a Xmas kick. I had these kick that once in a while totally focus on one theme, that was when I was doing it for Xmas. For a while, it was nothing but Bdays, recently is nothing but Anya's, so you get the idea.

What I like about this card, not to toot my own horn, is that I like the texture that it's 1/2 embossed. I can't tell you how much I love my Cuttlebug... I'm actually going to 'expand' and get my nestabilities a try. Although, from what I read, I need a C mat and something to wedge in between, so I'm going to have give that a try.

This past weekend was DH and mine Anniversary. It was great fun, had Fondue and watch his hockey game. Nothing super romantic, but it worked for me. So, I'm happy w/ it. ^_^

See ya.

So, yay me. I'm getting something out of it... Of coures, I'll take fame and glory, but hey... I'll take whatever comes my way.

I told DH that crafting finally pays off bit by bit. He busted a gut... because of course, he knows the amount of money I spent in stamping is nowhere close to what I'm getting in return. *sigh*. Little at a time, little at a time.

Last night I started to work on my class this Sunday. I'm teaching at Sew Crafty, and doing some quick and easy holiday cards. So, wish me luck!

Bling Mermaid

Bling Mermaid

Secondly, this is a nice cute cheapy card that I've made. The purple & green shiny pieces are paint chips from Ralph Lauren. How cool are those, huh? (So, silly that I'm all proud of myself.)

Anyway, I wanted some waterly looking color to be the background, and plus I had already blinged out the Mermaid's hair, figured I might as well do that too.

So, this will be the most bling or blingiest mermaid under the sea! W00t!

Alright got tons to do, talk more later...

Rockstar Anya

Rockstar Anya
Originally uploaded by Patty_kins
I swear, these Anya's are sooo darn cute, it doesn't matter to me what she wears, I still love them!!!!

So, this is a Rockstar Anya, which reminds me of Guitar Hero. Not that I'm any good at it, because I have very little coordination, but for people who are good at it, it seems pretty fun. Back in the day, before Guitar Hero, there was the Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), and I was very coordinate at that. But, some how, that didn't transfer to my arm... so my eye-leg coordination is good, but my eye-arm-hand coordination, not-so-good. ^o^

Anyway, back to the card, I did it as part of the Olympic contest... but I was having so much fun to make her glitter glam. I'm all of a sudden energized to glitter her someway... BUT! I had the patterned paper which is already glittered, so I felt weird to glitter the Anya more. (Yes, I'm from the school of 'less is more'). That's ok, don't worry, I'll glitter her up next one.

Well, here's my rockstar Anya... hope you enjoyed it!

Bunny Hello

Anyway, this is mine, I like it. It's like the Bunny playing peek-a-boo, and then pop up w/ presents like flower or balloon. How nice would that be, someone brings you flower and balloon for no good reason. =D

Well, I'm totally pooped, we had a dance workshop all weekend long, and just running around was good enough to make me lose sleep. I know we've gained an hour, but don't think that 'kicked' in, in my body yet.

Oh well... maybe I'll get some more sleep tonight.
