Personally, I suck at singing in front of people, but must say my shower hasn't kicked me out yet.

Anyway, she loves doggies, she and her husband had 2 pugs and a mutt, and some how part-time adopted another one. So, their house is a pupply playground. Way fun!

In other notes, I'm sure you guys are anxious to find out about the winners of the Blogaversary Giveaway.

Thanks to Random.org (which I don't know how to insert screen shot in my post). It picked # 17 & 6. So by my count, it'd be Heather & Sandyh50. YAY!!!! If you guys would email me: patty[dot]stamps[at]gmail[dot]com.

And thank you for everyone's support and suggestions. I have several people that mentioned altered items. You know, it's kinda funny, I do make altered tins and occasionally other stuff, just never thought of posting them here. Maybe that's what I should do going forward. Anyway, thank you again for everyone's support. I hope to do the candy thing soon. :)

Anyway, I don't know about you guys, but I"m totally stoked!!! Sex and the City is coming... Gosh, I'm so excited. I was watching one of the morning show, and they asked the random girls on the street who they think they are... most people said Carrie. And I think since the show is center around her, people can identify with her more. But frankly, I think people are more like the other characters than truly hers. If anything, I think we are all a little bit of all of them, than purely one or the other.

Anyway, the reason why I'm bringing this up is because in celebrating the movie coming out, I'm going to 2 events with girlfriends. So, I'm stoked... now I just need to find some shoes to go with it. OK... back to your crafting program.

It doesn't rain, and it's hot, so you're essentially getting a steam bath with your clothes on. So, if you can imagine that... this is what I get for the rest of the summer. I swear, last year wasn't this bad.

Anyway, so back to the card. I know Xmas is a long way off, but this chicky is just so awesome. I'd love to have her on my team to deliver presents.

I did struggled a bit on whether to highlight her headlight, or the fur on her outfit. I was going to go crazy with the Liquid Applique. But then decided on the headlight instead. I had also thought about drawing those lines like cartoon does, to make it look like she's moving along. I need research more on that later....

Anyway, still time for the Blogcandy (go look at the Piggy 2 post).

This is what I find interesting... for alot of businesses, they are all macho, and what not, but they would have thought of soft touches like sending cards to clients to kinda keep them in mind. Now, I totally understand for Xmas cards, we do alot of those here in our office, but for thank you cards that's very unusual.

Trust me, I'm not complaining, since I get paid to do these, but just unusual is all.

Blogaversary Swag

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Alright, as mentioned from the previous post, here's the pics of the Swag:

This one has 2 sets of Cuttlebug embossing folders, and a set of stamp from Green Grass. As promised, I will have a neat surprise pack with this giveaway.

I was organizing my drawers and found:

This one has 1 set of Cuttlebug embossing folders, duplicated stamps from Rubber Romance, and 2 spools of ribbon from American Crafts.

Anyway, I decided to do a 2nd prize.

So, if you haven't already, go back to the post, and answer the question. For those of you that had already answered, I'd appreciate your feedback, and thank you for your support.

Piggy 2 & Blog candy...

Frankly, I don't have too many piggy or animal stamps as I last mentioned, maybe that's the next purchase... I can't quite decided which ones are better, Gina K has a cute set, but so does MFT. So, many choices, so hard to decided.

OK... Let's talk Blogaversary Candy, shall we? I'm a bum, I forgot to charge my camera to let you see the swag, but I can tell you the prize pack contain 2 Cuttlebug folders, a stamp set from Green Grass, and something else (good, I promise). Since there's 10 of you reading my blog consistently, it'll be easy peasy.

All you need to do, is to tell me what you like to see on the blog. (i.e. like the product review, ditch the yarn stuff, more this, less that) I'll open this till next Friday, the 30th, and the winner will be selected by Random.org. The real Blogaversary date is 5/25, but since that's a Sunday on a holiday weekend it's tough to do. So, keep those comments coming, and thanks for your support!

So, this is one of two of my commissioned cards. The criteria was it has to be Pig but no pink because the receipient does not like pink. So, I'm thinking, light and fun. To that end, I made 2 version of the piggy card.

First of all, I only own 2 stamps that are pigs... I'm a city girl, I shop and social drink, so animals are not exactly my thing. Doesn't mean that I don't like them, just naturally drawn to other stamps than animal stamps.

Secondly, I tried to do other colors pigs, and I think I like Blue the best.

Anyway... so, here it is... blue pig!

So, here's what else I've been busy with... This birdie is just too cute... I'm thinking that I need to make a few more. As according to my DH, the stepdaughter had already been eyeing on this little guy. Or a pear. We'll see... This is a very cute birdie, I must say. Not that I invited it or anything. I just can follow a pattern well. As a matter of fact, in case you're interested, here's the link Click Me.

The author had like 3 together, and I'm thinking that I may do another so this has a mate. Although the color just reminds me so much of Pac-Man rather than birdie. Which I did find a pattern for Pac-Man too... behold the power of the interweb.

Anyway, this is the profile of the birdie, as you can see, it has a tail... a cute one at that. Took me a while to sew on. I hate the sewing part, don't mind the crocheting part. At least I can watch tv while I crochet... as oppose to stamping, I can only hear my show, because I need to concentrate on my images.

So, stay tune for Friday's announcement of the Blogaversary Candy... It's been a year, and I got some good stuff to give away... so stay tune!

I would say that I was kinda productive... got the oil change, did the service for the car. Got some errands done, which is nice to do that during the week when everyone is at work, and I have the luxury to stroll in and out when I feel like it.

Anyway, I did make some cards... ironically, I did more Xmas cards than I did regular cards. I know I have to make some commissioned Thank Yous and a special request for Bday card, but for some reason Xmas paper and stamps were calling my name... I can't help it.

Well, that said, I did make some 'normal' cards... this is one of them... Sometimes I wish they have a ATC size of this, and that way I can make some smaller... maybe I'll shrinky dink the image... we'll see.

Anyway, that's all for today, I have to go back to work to support my habit... oh, I mean, my hobby.

Anyway, with this one I'm kinda happy w/ the results. It's a touch of green in the tie, not over empowering or anything.

On to something else that's fun: Hermes' the fancy schmancy handbags and scarves people, is having a fun little download for their Kelly bag. There's several, but the blank one is just begging to be stamped all over. I'm going to try that at home tomorrow, and see how that turns out.

Anyway, got a few minutes to work on some cards yesterday. This is a technique that I was testing out for myself. I'm sure alot of people out there have tried it. This is where you stamp your image, then emboss w/ clear powder then fill in the color with chalk.

I must say, I've tried it, it's neat, but not a huge fan. Frankly, if I'm going to chalk color my image, I think just having a semi-dried Versamark does the trick better, IMHO.

I think I like the clear emboss technique would be great for if I brayer over the image or something. Where I can make the image stands out and color the background. Maybe I'll try that next.

Anyway, this patterned paper has been begging me to play with it for quite some time, so I just messing around.... It's a Just Because card.

It's only recently that we got decent cupcake places in Houston. They have The Cookie Jar who had done my DH's 40th iPod Cupcake Cake. Then, there's Sugar Baby's for my indulgent cravings. I think Sugar Baby's is more snooty but the flavors are better. Versus, Cookie Jar is very low key, but it's next to a sandwich shop. Well, when you come to Houston, those are the places to check out.

Back to the card... I just like the colorful theme, you can't help but want to be happy. On top of that, really makes you want a cupcake...

Anyway, this is another one that's commissioned by my co-worker. I just really liked the patterned paper that wanted to incorporate them in a card somewhere some how. So, this is what I came up with.

Hopefully it looked ok... you know how you look at something too long, eyes just started to cross? That's me sometimes w/ cards. Ah well.

Anyway, it came down to Brunch at 10:30a with no breakfast items in the brunch... by the sound of the menu, it may have well been just Dunch or Linner (Dinner and Lunch). It was steak, chicken, fish, no eggs anywhere to be had.

Then, DH reminded me of the tea place we took Mom to... frankly, I didn't forget, just thought we can take her to somewhere different.... which was the place that's booked up the entire month of May. Oh well, not meant to be, I guess. So, guess we're having tea.

Anyway, back to the card... this is commissioned by a co-worker who needs some bday cards for her family. Her in-laws have a larger family than her own. So, all of a sudden she has a flood of family birthdays obligations to attend to and represent the family for...

Originally, i was thinking I can do 3 cupcakes side-by-side, but then by the time I put the scalloped squares behind, I had ran out of room. I like it this way, quick and simple...

Peeps

And you're talking to a woman who can handle Flourless Chocolate cake like nobody's business. I mean, milk is for kids, and Flourless w/ Ganach is the way to go.

Anyway, they are cute nonetheless. I usually make a card like this on purpose to hit on friends who have neglected to answer emails. I know, we're all busy, have lives and most of them have kids. But doesn't mean that can't drop a line to say hello. So, I usually ping them w/ a card like this. It is cute and also lay on the guilt trip at the same time. =D I know I'm evil.

So... as we all know Peeps are known for it's colorful exterior. There's practically no nutritional value to it whatsoever, but it's fun. Now, not as silly as these people, but it's pretty funny. I still remember there's this one video of Peep being melted in a cooking pan w/ little bit of milk, and you see it go around and around inside the pan. That was enteretaining.

Yeah, sometimes I have too much time on my hands.
