Old card and a rememberance.

I know I'm way late on the Easter-card-train, but I forgot I had made this a while back.

It's pretty neat, you see a nice card, then you can open it like an Easter egg.  I think that was pretty nifty.   Now you see it, now you don't .  Totally peekaboo.  I love it.

On a sad note: I don't think alot of you know this, but the title of the Blog is Lindy Stamper.  Lindy is short for Lindy Hop, which is a style of Swing Dancing (think Big Band from the 40s).  Today, we found out that a legend, Frankie Manning, had passed away at the age of 94.  It's a shame because he was just a month shy of his 95 birthday.   I am a part of a team that is organizing his birthday festival which is the largest the dance community have ever seen.  We were all excited to see him again and have fun with him.

His passing has been very surreal for alot of his students, myself included... we just saw him last month.  I was one of the few having drinks with him that weekend.  To hear that his health deteriorate so quickly, and hear how he slipped into a coma and then passed.  It's just unreal to me.  Also very unreal to alot of us who have learned from him one point or another.

Even the last time we saw him, we were dancing in his honor, and while he cannot dance himself due to his hip, he wanted to be a part of it.  That's the type of guy he is, fun, enjoy the dance, enjoy the people and always wanted to be a part of it.

I am forever grateful to have the honor to meet him, take a photo with him, danced with him, listen to his lectures, and taught a class with him.   RIP Frankie.

Oh that is so sad about Frankie Manning. My husband and I used be involved with ballroom dance.
